la Fée Verte

Referring Absinthe as la Fée Verte is only because of the color which is normally pale or emerald green but clear in some case. The absinthe drinkers usually add three to five parts ice-cold water to a dose of absinthe due to its high proof and concentration of oils, which causes the drink to turn dull. To lessen the animosity often the water is used to dissolve added sugar. This research is measured an important part of the practice of drinking absinthe, so much so that it has become ritualized, complete with special slotted absinthe spoons and other accoutrements.
